Horrible experience! ****UPDATED**** I wish I could give two different ratings, one for the daycare itself and management, then one for the teachers that "cared" for my 2 year old son. The facility is beautiful, clean, and the front staff is friendly. The owner is always there and seems like he cares a great deal about his buisness. HOWEVER, the "teachers" in my son's class were down right awful and, that's who you really need to be on their game. My son needed a little extra love and attention because he had never been to a true daycare before, only a mother's day out program. He would cry when we dropped him off and they wouldn't console him. They wouldn't even hold him so I could leave. Drop off was a struggle everyday. I would receive daily progress notes via email that included potties that occurred after I picked him up. So obviously not my child. He came home in the wrong diapers, despite us packing adequate diapers. They said it was a mistake and credited my account for the mishap. (Which I thought was nice and I realize mistakes happen). The teachers would tell me he had a difficult day, but then never would elaborate on what that meant when I'd ask. I signed him up for soccer there, thinking that would help him adjust. I bought him new shoes and he refused to wear them, due to the association that the shoes meant he would have to go back to this awful school with awful teachers. Everyday he said, " no school, no friends, no mommy I want to stay with you. " Last Monday was the final straw, I went to pick him up, they called me to tell me he was being difficult. I had only gotten 2.5 hours of sleep, (I'm a night shift nurse) . I went to go get him, the teachers literally looked relieved. They said again he had a difficult day and whined a lot. I have never seen on the cameras any effort to console him or hug or love on him to make him feel better. In desperation, I asked, "what can I do to make this better, I've tried leaving him here shorter periods of time, I tried soccer, any suggestions?" The response was a blank stare! I then told her we didn't have this issue at his last place, and that the ratios were better there, the class was smaller. She replied, "well maybe that's what he needs. " She acted like she couldn't care less about my boy and how tormented he felt to be left here. I left a message for the owner to return my call , because I was considering pulling him from the program and he never returned my call. On Tuesday, we went to another facility and my son started that Wednesday. We have had zero issues! He loves it and says he wants to go again. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW MY CHILD BACK IN THIS PLACE! THE TEACHERS DO NOT CARE! I HATE IT HERE AND SO DID MY SON. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE TO BRING THEIR CHILD THERE! I bet there are good teachers in the daycare but my son had 3 teachers in his class and all were complacent, jaded and just flat out seemed like they did not love what they do! ***UPDATE*** A week after my son was pulled from the program the owner contacted me to discuss the issues I had with the teachers in my sons room. He reassured me that the teachers were being counseled and that this was not his standard that he likes his buisness to be ran. He was extremely apologetic and has checked on my son a few times to make sure he is happy and adjusting to the new day program that we placed him in after kiddie academy. He also offered for our son to come back and be placed in a different class. If our son wouldn't of reacted so badly to being at this program I might if considered doing more to make it work. But I will say the owner is a genuine person and a kind man. I truly wish that things would of worked out there for my son. I do feel assured that things were addressed and my complaint was taken seriously.

  • I am super disappointed that we have to find another Daycare because he will be going to an elementary out of their pick up and drop off areas. I could easily go to the daycare next door (that does go there), but still... I highly recommend Kiddie Academy.
